MannaKehila is designed to create an additional stream of support for churches while keeping the financial side straightforward and transparent.
There is no cost to a church to create or maintain its MannaKehila community. Individual members pay for their own subscriptions, and a portion of each subscription supports the church community they choose to join.
Here is how it works.
There is no cost to the church.
Our tentative launch price for individual members is $5.99 per month.
From each membership:
Payment-processing costs are covered from MannaKehila’s portion of the membership price rather than deducted from a member’s optional additional gift.
Because MannaKehila is still in development, the final member subscription price may change modestly as our actual operating costs become clearer. Our goal is to keep membership affordable while providing meaningful recurring support to participating churches.
Subscription payments and optional additional giving are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor.
MannaKehila does not receive or store members’ full credit card or bank account information, nor does it receive or store the bank account information churches provide for receiving payments. Sensitive financial information is handled through Stripe’s secure payment systems.
That keeps payment information in the hands of a company built specifically to process and protect it rather than requiring MannaKehila to collect or store those financial details itself.
We want to be straightforward about that too.
The church receives the largest single share of the member subscription price.
Of the remaining amount, the largest portion is intended to keep MannaKehila operating, improving, and growing. That includes expenses such as:
A smaller portion provides income to the people building and operating MannaKehila.

Outside of the church's $2 share, percentages may change as development continues and real operating costs become known. The purpose of the graphic is not to suggest precision we do not yet have, but to give a clear general picture of where the membership money is intended to go.
Every church is different.
Congregation size, engagement, promotion, community reach, and other factors will affect participation. Rather than tell you what your church will receive, the calculator lets you explore a few examples based on different levels of participation.
Start with your weekly household attendance:
Enter a whole number from 0 to 1,000,000.
Enter a whole number from 0 to 1,000,000 to see your results.
The calculator displays several participation examples:
Base membership support only, using $2 per subscriber per month.
But, this is just the start...
Some members may choose to add a little extra each month for their church. 100% of that additional giving goes to the church.
We cannot know what that generosity will look like from one community to another, but the calculator can show how different averages would affect the totals.
Using the same participation range above:
Based on your calculator setting: 250 households in weekly attendance. Each range runs from 10% participation (25 subscribers) to 50% participation (125 subscribers) among those households.Change the household attendance above and these amounts update automatically.Change household attendance
Using MannaKehila to double as a tithing app - which it can! - could absolutely enlarge the giving stream beyond the exampled $2 and $5 averages! These examples consider MannaKehila one of many avenues of giving, not a primary method.
These totals include both the regular $2 church share and the illustrated average additional giving.
The average includes all subscribers, including members who give nothing beyond their subscription.
These figures are illustrations, not predictions. Optional giving will depend on the generosity and giving habits of each community, so actual amounts may be lower or higher.
The calculator is a snapshot based on the number of members at one point in time. In practice, a church may continue adding people gradually through its congregation, social media, community events, friends, family, and outreach.
A church might choose to set a modest goal for adding new members each month or each quarter and build from there.
MannaKehila can also be incorporated into events the church is already holding. For example, suppose a church dinner raises $1,000 and 25 attendees also join the church’s MannaKehila community. Those memberships would represent another $50 per month, or $600 on a full-year basis, in recurring base support.
Future events create more opportunities to add members, allowing those connections to accumulate over time instead of each event standing entirely on its own.
MannaKehila is not intended to replace the fundraising or outreach your church already does. It gives those efforts another way to continue creating value after the event itself is over.
Your church should not have to create a marketing program from scratch.
MannaKehila will provide ready-to-use materials and straightforward guidance, including:
In many cases, putting those materials to use may involve little more than downloading and posting a graphic, sending prepared copy to an email list, printing a flyer, or incorporating one of the provided materials into an upcoming event.
Our goal is to handle as much of the preparation as we reasonably can so that the church can focus on putting the materials to use rather than creating them.
As MannaKehila grows, we also hope to share ideas that are working well across participating communities so churches can benefit from one another’s experience.
There is no cost to the church.
There is no inventory to purchase, no product to store or deliver, and no separate fundraiser that has to be created in order to participate.
The church still needs to let people know the community is there and give them opportunities to join, but much of the promotional material and planning will already be prepared for you.
That keeps the added effort relatively low while creating another recurring stream of support alongside the things your church is already doing.
So why leave it on the table?
No single recipe, post, event, or invitation has to accomplish everything.
One person joins, then another. A family member in another state becomes part of the community. Someone scans a QR code at a church dinner. A neighbor discovers a recipe through a friend. A member chooses to give a little extra.
Individually, those moments may seem small. Together, over time, they can become something much more meaningful.
“Whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
Sometimes the opportunity is simply to keep planting.
